Vasavi Club Shanthiniketan in association with Vasavi Charitable Trust visited the Fire Station, Hulimavu for a Fire Safety Demonstration and Awareness Program.

We are happy to share that Santhanaraju Sir (Fire Officer) explained fire safety measures in a very informative and interactive manner to the kids and participants. He demonstrated different types of fires issues and how to rescue according to situation and also explained different type of vehicles, safety equipment, life jackets, pipes, water storage systems, and various sections of the fire station are used to safeguard the people from different types of fire hazards,. He also explained the different types of fire, rescue methods, and how the response differs based on the situation. Importantly, he informed that water is not the solution for all types of fire, and proper fire safety measures are essential. 

It was also interesting to know that the Fire Station was established in 1964 along with the Police Station and was later separated in 1973. The Fire Officer emphasized the importance of remembering the emergency helpline number 112 which can be used not only for fire emergencies but also for accidents, theft, women’s safety concerns, and any emergency situation requiring immediate assistance. 

A small honoring was also done to the Fire Officers as a token of appreciation for their dedicated service and valuable guidance. Thank you so much to the entire Fire Station team for making this session highly informative and memorable. 🙏

The session was highly educational and useful for both kids and adults, creating greater awareness about safety and emergency preparedness.
